Things are all wrong

Posted by maribel on 01/06/2015

“Historically, the most terrible things – war, genocide, and slavery – have resulted not from disobedience, but from obedience.” Howard Zinn

Howard Zinn was an American historian, author, playwright, and social activist. He was a political science professor at Boston University. Zinn wrote more than 20 books, including the influential A People’s History of the United States.

What follows is part of a speech by Zinn on the issue of civil disobedience, read by  Matt Damon.

However, I strongly recommend also this reading by actor and writer Wallace Shawn, whom you may know for his role of Vizzini in the 1997 fim The Princess Bride.

Here you heve tha transcript of the whole speech.

Find out more about Howard Zinn here.
